Arbor Terrace Willistown does one of these on the first Thursday of every month. Lunch, an hour, and a look round the place. Next one is Thursday 1 October, twelve o’clock, and you have to RSVP by the Wednesday before it.
Nothing fancy. Small plates of whatever they’re cooking that day, and residents rather than staff walking you through the building.

You will get a straighter answer out of them than anyone in marketing. How long the call button takes on a bad night. Whether it’s the same carers week to week or a rotating cast. What lunch is like when there’s nobody visiting.
The Money
Nobody puts this on a flyer, so from Arbor’s own site: Personal Care starts at $4,450 a month, Memory Care at $6,650. Those are floors. Room size and care needs push it up from there.
Something to watch in the wording. They say Personal Care, not Assisted Living, and in Pennsylvania those are two different licenses. It affects how much care they’re allowed to give somebody. So the question is what happens the day your mother needs more than they can legally provide. Eronee
